Thousands of stylists, barbers, and beauty pros will converge on DeVos Place in October for a weekend of education and competition.

One of the state's biggest gatherings for beauty professionals is coming back to West Michigan. The Michigan Beauty Show returns to DeVos Place in Grand Rapids on October 18 and 19, promising a weekend built around education, inspiration, and networking for the industry.

A weekend of learning

The show's draw is its classroom slate — more than 120 sessions covering everything from color theory to salon business management, along with a strong barbering and men's-grooming component. Thousands of beauty professionals from across Michigan and the Midwest are expected to attend.

A fitting venue

DeVos Place, the convention center anchoring downtown Grand Rapids at 303 Monroe Avenue NW, offers 162,000 square feet of exhibit space plus a ballroom — room enough for the trade floor, demonstrations, and competitions that fill the weekend.

Why it matters

For a workforce made up largely of independent stylists and small-shop owners, events like the Michigan Beauty Show are where skills get sharpened and businesses get built. In a year when Michigan's broader economy has wobbled, the beauty trade — stubbornly local and service-driven — keeps drawing a crowd eager to invest in its craft. The doors open October 18.
